[Guide] Firestorm Citadel

*I hope you don't mind me posting this in its current, unfinished state. I'll edit it up as I go.*

"Our great kingdom shall never fall to the likes of beasts!"

Introduction
[intro goes here]

Tools of the Trade
[intro blurb explaining why you should learn some of these 'techniques' before you attempt to FSC goes here]

Shield Cancel [S-Cancel]
This is a pretty fundamental technique for sword users, although gunners can take advantage of it too. Shield Cancelling is performed by tapping the shield button towards the ending frames of an attack. If performed correctly, the shielding frames should 'overwrite' the ending frames of the attack, effectively cutting it short. Do note that the timing for Shield Cancelling will vary depending on the weapon and the attack speed attached to it. If you're having trouble with the timing, try holding the shield button the moment you start an attack; it should automatically shield cancel. Depending on your reaction speed, this will be slightly slower unless you can react fast enough to let go of the shield the moment the cancel happens. Shield Cancelling allows you perform a variety of other neat tricks like Gatling the first slash of your sword's combo (you sword's natural combo limit will still be in place). There will be a noticeable pause once you've reached your sword's natural combo limit via Gatling, however, this can by bypassed with another technique.

This is a normal, non[S-Cancelled] attack.
This is a [S-Cancelled] attack. Notice how the [S-Cancelled] attack ends earlier versus the normal attack above. This allows you to perform other actions such as movement a bit sooner.

Delay Charge [D-Charge]
There is a period of time between attacks in a combo in which pressing the attack button will advance the combo into the next attack. For the sake of convenience, we will now refer to this time-frame as . If you miss , the combo will end. Delay Charge involves charging for a charged attack following the previous attack, but releasing the charge before ends. This will result in performing the next attack in the combo if applicable. One of the main features of this technique is that you can move while 'charging' the next attack in the combo; this leads to much greater mobility in combat.

This is a normal combo performed with a heavy sword.
This is the same combo, but with [D-Charge] applied to the 2nd slash. The extra movement range acquired from [D-Charging] can be useful for chasing down enemies or dodging attacks should you so choose.
Here [D-Charge] is applied to the 2nd slash, thus allowing the Knight to evade the enemy's attack while delivering the finishing blow.

[D-Charge] as applied to the standard 3-hit combo swords.
A normal 3-hit combo.
A combo with [D-Charge] applied to the 2nd hit.
A combo with [D-Charge] applied to the 3rd hit.

Heavy Sword: 3-hit Combo
By combining both [S-Cancel] and [D-Charge], we are able to perform an effective 3-Hit combo using Heavy Swords. See spoilers for a bit more information.

Broken down, the 3-Hit Heavy Sword combo is essentially this:
[S-Cancelled] slash followed by another slash [D-Charging] into the 3rd and final slash.
This is favourable to the normal Heavy Sword's normal combo as you are able to [S-Cancel] after any of the 3 slashes, improving defence, and am not tied down by the long delay that exists after the Heavy Sword's 2nd slash.
*This 3-Hit combo can be [G-Chained] into itself.*

Gun: Reload-less Combo
Finishing a gun combo will always result in a long reloading animation, during which you will be unable to shield and will move at roughly half of your normal movement speed. Not being able to shield while moving at slow speeds generally calls for disaster; it's best to avoid reloading when possible. Reloading usually only occurs after the last shot in a gun combo is fired. To avoid reloading, we will simply shoot all but the last shot of a gun combo. Where 'X' is the total number of shots available in a gun's combo, we will shoot 'X'-1 shots, and repeat after the previous combo's has expired, thus resulting in a continuous stream of shots without reload.

Gatling Chain [G-Chain]
Repeated [S-Cancelling] of a weapon's attacks will result in a nasty delay due to having reached the weapon's natural combo limit, however this can be bypassed simply by switching weapons between [S-Cancelled] attacks. This allows you to chain continuous strings of [S-Cancelled] attacks together at a rapid pace. This 'technique' can be used with almost any weapon, but it works best with weapons of the same speed. It is possible to move a minute distance between [S-Cancelled] attacks or even during if you are using certain guns.

[G-Chaining] can be pretty devastating on slow or immobile enemies if you have the right combination of weapons.
This [G-Chaining] being applied to the Alchemer line guns.
This is a clip of the Reload-less gun combo of an Alchemer supplied for speed comparison purposes with above.
