Guide suggestions please! :) Empty Guide suggestions please! :)

Hey guys! The officers (and hopefully some veterans!) are going to start writing some guides for our Clockworks 101 section. We have a few ideas, but we also definitely want to hear your suggestions. What else do you want to know about? What kinds of things could help you?

Our ideas so far:
- Boss strata basics (not step-by-step guides, exactly, but gear suggestions and tips, stuff like that)
- Gear reviews (pros and cons of different sets, popular weapons, good shields)

Only two sections, but should be a good number of posts just from that. But I know there's more I haven't thought of! So please, suggest away! Very Happy

This is a good start! I think it's very important to introduce newbies to the Auction House as soon as possible. I ignored it for quite a while, and I now wish I wouldn't have. Maybe like a how-to guide or something like that would be nice. For the most part, I think it's fairly self-explanatory, but if you never take the time to walk up to it (like I did), you will never learn!

Another section that might be nice is how to get the most bang for your crown when selling your minerals. I, like many people, used to just walk up and Auto Sell everything I have without even looking at the stratums or anything. I think this is a very common newbie move. I did this and didn't even think twice about it until Pokusan really sat me down and explained how it worked (thanks, by the way! cheers).

There's a few, and if I happen to think of any others, I will post them as they come up.

Guide suggestions please! :) Empty Encounter manuals

Encounter manuals for missions, danger rooms etc. It should cover all non-trivial encounters, particularly those where mobs ambush player.
Each encounter should be divided into two sections - waves and tactical implication paragraphs (TIPs).
Waves section should contain a screenshot of each wave and trigger mechanism if non-trivial. (Pressing party pad or eliminating previous wave is considered trivial.)
TIPs section is optional and should contain only TIPs specific for that particular encounter.
For example FSC missile puppy room could mention:
* Knight can trigger zombie wave without aggroing the puppy and can return to first section of the room before barrier respawns.
* Knight can progress in clockwise direction by hitting blue block with alchemer charge attack or by inflicting shock status on a zombie next to the blue block.
* Knight can sneak past the puppy by aggroing it and leaving room to clear aggro so that puppy faces north-west.
* The puppy respawns unaggroed.
Basically stuff that breaks the game :]


I can write encounter manual for FSC and LoA. Maybe other prestige danger missions later.

I agree, some kind of pricing guide for when putting items on AH would be ideal. I still have no idea how much some of my stuff is worth. I wouldn't expect an exact price or exhaustive list, but the base prices for equipment and an explanation of how much they are effected by variants would be very useful.

In terms of items at least, some of this info is already on the SK wiki. But that could help you write up a guild, or have links to some of the usefull pages. I know some people just play the game and never think of looking for a wiki for it.

I think it would be awesome to do weapon guides.
Choosing a certain weapon (eg Troika). And going about the Pros & Cons of its pathways, as well as demonstrations of what each one is capable of.

Just an idea.
