Oats v. Oats Lockdown

Post  sTartar on Mon May 13, 2013 2:37 am

Some members have expressed an interest in playing guild lockdown matches against ourselves. We can accomplish this by having some people temporarily join another guild at the time of the matches. I have a guild for my alts that we could use for this. Those people will be invited back to the Oathkeepers after the matches are over. We need at least 12 people to participate - 6 for each team to play guild v. guild.

If you would be interested in participating please post a reply. Include what times you would be available and don't forget to include your time zone. I will try to schedule a time or times depending on when everybody is available. If this works out we could try to make it a weekly event.

All skill and equipment levels welcome. This is just for fun so don't worry if you have never played LD or have issues with lag. This would be a good opportunity to learn and earn some krogmo coins.

Reply if interested.

I'm interested!

Post  Ozmiander on Tue May 14, 2013 5:22 pm

Normally I can't stand LD, and just do it to farm krogs, but this might make it more fun! Unfortunately, I have strange hours. Most commonly I'm on around midnight, and my time zone is PST. I may be able to randomly show up at whatever other time you might end up doing this. Thanks!

Around 2AM CST

I'd just like to say:

I AM SO IN.

I saw this post awhile back from a mobile device, I forgot to make myself known (d'oh!).
In any case, I'll make myself available with the majority. I know how hard it can be to accommodate for everyone, so I'll adjust.

See you Oats in the ring.

My timezone is EST so whatever that is? D: I'm bad at things.

I think we're trying to have a match this weekend? I work all weekend. TwT But I'll update this later if there are any times that I will be on.
Here's an approximation of my free time this weekend.
Friday: 10am-3pm, after 10pm
Saturday: after 10pm
Sunday: 10-11am, after 12am

Saturday: around 9PM CST
Sunday: 9-10AM, after 11PM CST

Re: Oats v. Oats Lockdown

Between the posts here and the people I've talked to in game it looks like we have at least 12. I'm still not sure we have 12 that are available at the same time. I'm going to start sorting out the times and shoot for something this coming weekend. Watch for a follow up post. Anybody interested who has not posted their times yet please do so soon.

Since we have members around the globe in various timezones, I will set up multiple times/sessions if there is enough interest. Right now it looks like I will just set one time for this first event and hope that most can make it. If you are interested in Oats v. Oats LD then talk to members who are normally online at the during times you usually play. That is best way to ensure that we can have some matches set up during your playing times.

please post your timezones and/or your time slots available. please and thanks

EDITED (almost)EVERYONE'S POST and added a CST time equivalent. Please (double)check it yourself if everything I added is correct.
If you can post everything in CST, that'd make our jobs(specially tar's) easier. So please, CST. If not, I'll kill you till you're dead Suspect

Here's a link to the time zone converter that I used. http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/

My CST is anything really from 4:00 to 10:00, barring the occasional hour for revision which I can't shift around

I may pop in on this from time to time. I'm usually available on the weekends with Drew, unless my band is practicing or playing a show or what have you. but anyway, my time is the same as Drew's. GMT -8 i think. If anyone wants to double check, we live in California, duuuuuuude. sunny

Re: Oats v. Oats Lockdown

Post  sTartar on Wed May 22, 2013 8:28 pm

Based on the times here and the people I've spoken to online I'm going to set the time for Saturday 8 PM CST. Use the time zone convertor Kamote posted to determine what that is for your location.

I know this time does not fit everybody's schedule, but it seems to be the best fit for most of the people. I think we will still need some more people so talk to members you see online and spread the word. If this works out and there is still interest, I will set up a future match that will better fit the timezones of those who may not be able to make this time.

Let's meet in the guild hall at 8 PM this Saturday to get organized and begin playing. Matches will continue as long as everybody wants to keep playing. I imagine we may want to meet up in the guild hall between matches to rearrange the teams to keep things balanced.

Since many (or most) participants have not invested in dedicated lock down gear sets, I think it may help to have some rules to keep things fun and fair. Banning heart trinkets for players wearing 4 or 5 star armor comes to mind. I'm open to any suggestions you may have. Let me know if you think of anything.
